It’s been a big year at IntelliAM, and we’re over the moon to have been shortlisted for AI Company of the Year at the UK Business Tech Awards.

Being recognised alongside some of the UK’s most innovative tech businesses is a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and ambition that’s driven our growth since we launched back in July 2023.

In that short time, we’ve gone from a start-up to a publicly listed company, raised £5 million at IPO, acquired a well-established engineering consultancy, and significantly grown our team. And while it’s been a whirlwind year, this nomination gives us a moment to reflect and celebrate the future we’re building.

Who is IntelliAM?

At IntelliAM – which stands for Intelligent Asset Management – we’re on a mission to transform how manufacturers manage their assets, using the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

In a nutshell, we’re turning the art of manufacturing into a science.

Founded in 2023 by Thomas Clayton, CEO, and Keith Smith, COO, IntelliAM was born out of decades of combined experience in engineering, operations, and manufacturing. Our technology helps manufacturers unlock the hidden potential in their machine assets by tapping into billions of data points to optimise performance, reduce waste, and boost productivity – all without requiring expensive equipment upgrades.

Headquartered in the UK and listed on the Aquis Stock Exchange, we serve more than 150 customers across the UK, Europe, and Japan. Our clients include half of the world’s top 12 food and drink manufacturers – household names like Müller, Mars, Weetabix, ADM, and Hovis – who trust us to optimise asset efficiency and drive measurable improvements on their production lines.

What We Entered and Why It Matters

For the UK Business Tech Awards, we entered our story so far – one that’s redefined what’s possible in manufacturing performance.

We set out with a bold vision to lead a new industrial revolution, one where machines aren’t just maintained but understood, predicted, and continuously improved through intelligent insight.

To help make that happen, we achieved two critical milestones early on in our journey. The first one was that we successfully floated on the Aquis Stock Exchange, raising £5 million to fuel our growth and accelerate our product roadmap.

Wealso acquired respected asset care business 53North Group (53N), giving us unrivalled domain expertise and deepening our technical capabilities through real-world, on-the-ground experience. Today, 53N serves as IntelliAM’s engineering consultancy division.

Beyond the commercial success, what makes us proudest from our journey so far is our impact. We’re helping manufacturers to achieve increased productivity through greater efficiency, lower energy use, and reduced waste, all while enhancing safety and resilience in the supply chain.

A Strategic Partner for Industry

In 2024, we also formed a major strategic partnership with Swedish manufacturing powerhouse, SKF – present in 129 countries, with over 17,000 distributors and exposure to over 40 industries. The agreement is expected to see our breakthrough ML platform embedded into SKF’s products, seeing both companies unite to drive forward the global AI revolution.

This partnership, combined with thought leadership appearances in The AI Journal, Process & Control, and FMCG CEO Magazine, and more, plus speaking at the South Yorkshire Tech Summit, has further cemented our position as a trusted authority in industrial AI.

Why This Nomination Matters

Being shortlisted for AI Company of the Year means a lot to the entire IntelliAM team. It recognises our commitment to real-world innovation, where AI doesn’t just look good in a demo but delivers tangible, lasting impact on the factory floor.

We’re not just innovating; we’re redefining how humans and machines interact, and this award acknowledges that.

While traditional manufacturing and predictive maintenance analytics focus on hundreds of condition data points, we unlock billions hidden in plain sight. It’s this depth of insight, combined with practical engineering knowledge, that sets us apart and has earned us our spot in the shortlist.

A big thank you to the UK Business Tech Awards for recognising our journey so far. This nomination marks an exciting milestone as we continue to help manufacturers achieve greater efficiency, resilience, and sustainability, through AI that’s intelligent by design and grounded in real-world engineering. The future’s bright, and we’re just getting started.
