Who is ddroidd?

We are honoured for our success, work and team to be recognised in the UK Business Tech Awards alongside so many other worthy finalists.

As a relatively new disrupter in the technical market, we are proud of our impressive growth and results to date, and look forward to continuing our journey to rewrite the technical landscape.

But, who are we? We are ddroidd.

Established in November 2020, ddroidd is a global IT services partner, passionate about engineering excellence, solving complex technical challenges, creating efficient code, and building systems that scale for the future.

The greatest technical delivery comes from building bespoke teams, acting fast and being agile. And that’s exactly what we do – uniting the best technical minds with a common purpose and challenge.

United by our passion to create, innovate, make a difference, and shape the future of technology; our culture is to challenge the way that things have always been done, to simplify the complex, and to start with asking “why?”.

We’re focused on being an employer of choice, employing, developing, and growing the best technical experts within the industry. As a team of almost 140 people and a partner network of over 320 specialists across our offices in the UK and Romania, we are on-track to triple our turnover and double our team this year.

Digital done differently

ddroidd was born from a love of technology and service delivery. We were confident in our ability to build and deliver our vision to disrupt the market in three ways:

  1. Create sustainable technology solutions – Many businesses don’t consider the role that web applications have on the environment. We wanted to use our platform and technical expertise to educate and deliver energy-efficient, sustainable software. Our team has created our A+++ framework, which is a dedicated approach to software development and system architecture that cuts information reprocessing by up to 90%, reducing a website’s energy consumption, improving reliability and responsibility, as well as cutting costs as a result.

  2. Being a people-first employer – We wanted to create a company that champions people and their happiness over profits. Bring them opportunities and experiences to grow from, to create a culture of education and knowledge sharing, and to enhance their work and home lives. In the last 18 months, we have expanded our benefits programme to offer 100% remote working with office hubs available for those that want them, private medical insurance, meal vouchers, a day a month free for self-development, gym membership, discount cards, team experience days and social events. Given the lack of team-time due to the pandemic, we’ve just announced the option to work from one of our European city rentals for a week in the summer. We’ve appointed two internal people representatives, to ensure we’re listening to ideas, feedback and requests, and consulting the full team on wider business decisions. We’re focused on being an employer of choice, employing and developing the best technical experts within the industry. Our attrition rate is 3%, which we consider to be very low for the technical industry.
  1. Championing women in tech – It’s important for us to champion diversity internally and to push ahead of the market average for women in IT and in senior leadership roles. Two out of the four founders are women, and our overall current male/female ratio is 46% female out of 138 employees, where the market average sits around 26.2%. We’re proud of the statistic and continue to push towards 50%.

People over profits

Whilst our financial figures year on year have remained impressive, to us success is so much more than profits. As a people-first business, we lead with building strong, long-standing relationships, whether that’s our team, suppliers or clients, each one is important to us.

It is this approach to doing things differently that has led to some key achievements that we’re really proud of. Over the last 12 months we have increased new customer acquisitions by 45%, which has seen our international business expansion into the USA and UAE. In addition, we opened our second office in Romania, expanded our leadership team and unveiled a new people strategy focused on culture and skills growth.

Not only do we want to retain our talent, but also attract new people. This is in line with our objective to be the employer of choice. We aim for this through an attractive benefits package and unrivalled culture. With a flat structure, we remove unnecessary hierarchy and give our people the flexibility to innovate and push boundaries. We regularly request feedback and listen.

As a team of 138, we’re already a serious player within the industry. We continue to grow, deliver outstanding results, and challenge the way things have always been done, particularly when it comes to sustainable technology.

We’re passionate, ambitious, and people-focused, putting our clients and people over profit. Our agile and collaborative approach has resulted in never losing a client.

In a short time, we’ve established ourselves as a global player in a crowded market. We’re proud to be different and dare to do things our way.
