Earth Cubs is delighted to be shortlisted in the Tech for Good category for the UK Business Tech Awards!

Earth Cubs is the environmental learning platform for primary aged children, inspiring kids to learn and love the world. Using gaming, storytelling, action-based teaching resources, and real world environmental protections, Earth Cubs connects learning and impact. With climate change set to have a huge impact on our children’s future, Earth Cubs fills a huge climate and environmental learning gap – preparing children for their future through awe and wonder, not fear.

With over 200k app downloads, over 3700 schools, and over 250 acres of rainforest protected, Earth Cubs has successfully started its journey to inspire the next generation of global citizens.

Innovation is at the core of Earth Cubs! Earth Cubs boosts learning for kids by giving them the opportunity to explore, play and create on their own terms. Children choose their own pathways and the experience of using Earth Cubs can be different every time!

Earth Cubs supports teachers and parents by providing a simple user experience on our website filled with a plethora of activities and packs that work in harmony with in-app content, expanding the learning both inside and outside the classroom in a highly interactive and immersive way. The introduction of Earth Cubs Clubs has been a hugely successful way of enriching the learning experience through a wonderful combination of fun and playful exploration in the game, with immersive activities outside of the tech.

Our materials are vibrant and engaging, as well as educationally sound. Our teams of designers, developers and writers work hard to ensure Earth Cubs is a highlighter in a box of pencils!

All our environments are scaffolded around our key learning themes of Global Awareness, Literacy and Language, and Creativity. Our game levels and educational materials teach children about parts of the world (geography), their communities (culture), and their amazing ecosystems (biodiversity).

The environments have specific sustainability-based themes linked to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, like: Equality, Health and Wellbeing, Responsible Consumption and Production. We put emphasis on progression through behavioural change, helping children understand the impact of their actions and start thinking about, and getting excited about, their sustainable future. Earth Cubs avoids doom and gloom at all costs, tackling difficult subjects in a positive way:

Whatever the learning difference, kids can learn at their own pace, in their own way. We celebrate differences throughout the app and content. We want kids to understand that they have things in common with other kids that live on the other side of the world, reducing stigma and promoting the idea that different points of view are great.

By partnering with amazing planet-saving organisations like Fairtrade, Oxfam, Ocean Generation, and more, we connect kids to the superheroes on the front line of action through storytelling. We also believe that by rewarding learning with real world environment protection, we can create more meaningful connections and engender a wonderful sense of empathy.

We are currently working on an Earth Cubs for Schools membership which will be launched in September 2022 and new app environments will be coming very soon!
