We are excited to share that Apax has been shortlisted for the UK Business Tech Awards in the TECH FOR GOOD category! This prestigious recognition highlights our innovative VR Wellness programme, which leverages immersive virtual reality experiences, combined with an AI-powered personalised virtual coach, to revolutionise mental health recovery and promote overall mental wellbeing.

As a forward-thinking social enterprise, Apax creatively utilises VR technology to deliver impactful mental wellbeing services. The programme is designed to help individuals manage social anxiety, reduce stress, and improve mood, all through engaging and immersive experiences tailored to their needs.

Apax is a London-based non-profit social enterprise dedicated to providing premium supported housing and assisted living services to vulnerable adults, particularly those experiencing homelessness and mental health difficulties. The organisation supports over 140 individuals across the city, helping them prepare for independent living through innovative methods, including the use of transformative technology.

Through our partnership with the use of the Meta Quest 2 VR headset in conjunction with the TRIPP meditation app, Apax offers a revolutionary approach to supporting mental health. The programme provides immersive, safe spaces where residents can work on reducing social anxiety, managing stress, and practising life skills essential for independent living.

How the VR Wellness Programme Makes a Difference

The VR Wellness programme has already shown significant success. By providing virtual environments that replicate real-world scenarios, participants can manage their mental health in a controlled, therapeutic space. Residents at Apax have experienced not only improved mental health outcomes but also increased confidence and digital dexterity—skills vital for independent living in today’s society.

What’s Next for Apax and VR Wellness?

Looking ahead, Apax is exploring further applications of VR technology, including staff training and enhanced life-skills development for residents. By continuing to innovate, Apax aims to solidify its position as a leader in utilising virtual reality to promote social good.

This shortlisting at the UK Business Tech Awards validates our commitment to using technology to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals. We are excited for the future and remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with VR and AI to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Stay tuned as we continue this remarkable journey towards empowering individuals with innovative technology. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making this achievement possible.
